Meet Marcus

Marcus Kearns is a theater artist living on the East Coast and working as an Actor, Educator, and Technician. Born in Canada and raised in New England, Marcus has always enjoyed creative pursuits. He started theater as a middle schooler, starting backstage and then turning to acting in High School where he played everything from Russian soldiers to pirate kings to Protestant preachers. At Franklin Pierce University, he participated in the Kennedy Center American Theater Festival as an actor and did some freelance film acting for friends. He joined the company at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA during the summer of 2010 and has been living and working with the group since in roles as varied as catering manager, stage carpenter, sound engineer, actor, director, and education artist. He participated as a technical director for the Fall Festival of Shakespeare 2011, 2014, and 2016 took the company's Acting Intensive program, directed productions in the Fall Festival of Shakespeare 2012 and 2013, in addition to performing in many season's productions.
After an incredible spring touring Macbeth and Twelfth Night up and down the Northeast, Marcus spent time in residence at Shakespeare & Company spending his summers performing outside. In Twelfth Night he played Duke Orsino and Sir Andrew Aguecheek at the original home of Shakespeare & Company, Edith Wharton's Estate, The Mount. In addition Marcus he performed on The Rose Footprint in The Emperor of The Moon by Aphra Behn and adapted by Jenna Ware as Harlequin. After to his time in Berkshires, Marcus was working as a carpenter for some of Broadways Premiere Props Masters on shows such as Allegiance, Something Rotten, On the 20th Century, Fish in the Dark, Gigi and, Finding Neverland while continuing to work his craft as a Performer.
Marcus is one of the three Kearns siblings working in American theatre; his sister Amanda is an Actress in Philadelphia, PA and his sister Natalie is a Props Artisan in London Ontario.
